2012: Chocolate World Order

Chocolate: We’ve all had a taste, and many of us can’t get enough. However, you might not be able to enjoy it for long!

In 2000, The World Cocoa Foundation was quietly formed under a non-profit banner. Because cacao trees are particularly picky plants which grow only in specific conditions, and land that can support them is quite limited, it looked as though there was a need for protection. Partnering with governments and corporations alike, it soon grew to be a major player in the industry thanks to marketing towards the idea of preserving cacao trees globally.

Today, a number of large companies are partnered with them, including Nestlé, The Hershey Company, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, and Mars Incorporated. They’re all lining up their pieces, but what power does the chocolate industry hold? More than you may think.

Mayans and Chocolate

The Maya depicting the Chocolate World Order. The elevated class refuses to allow the peasants to have any chocolate.

The Maya were one of the first societies to produce chocolate, and gave it high value. They even used cacao seeds as currency! They were also one of the many cultures to predict the end of the world in 2012. Coincidence?

It would be important that they don’t clearly depict chocolate as the source of the end of days, because people would fear consuming or producing it, and the fall of chocolate would have brought an early economic collapse. They would have left just enough hints behind to allow us to potentially prevent the economic fall and collapse of society that the Chocolate World Order would bring. By cleverly hiding the truth of their predictions, they have given only the people of today a chance to prevent the Chocolate World Order from coming to fruition. The time to act is now.
